You’re Almost Twenty; Grow Up?!

In all honesty, I’m sick of hearing the phrase “grow up” as if I’m acting childish in someway, as if dressing the way I do, or thinking the way I do is childish. Dressing out of the norm, with piercings and tattoos, does not make one childish, nor does it make them ignorant. It just means they like the fashion, or implications behind it; it is body art, and should be treated as such.

In the world, there are those who take life way too seriously, and feel as if they should act a certain way, or the world will crumble. They’re the people with middle-class jobs, the people who are worried about what others think, and the people that are generally so stressed that they could explode any minute. I understand that it’s stressful to try to pay bills, go to work every day, raise children, and constantly worry about if you’re doing the right thing; but if you look at it with a different perspective you could make life less of a hell for yourself.

Now, I’m not saying to go and throw out all your morals out of a window, because no matter how you look at it, it’s not cool to try and run your neighbor’s car into a streetlamp, no matter how much they pissed you off. What I’m saying is to think, that you’re only allotted a specific amount of time for living, so why not live it with no regrets. You know that girl you’ve been crushing over for years, tell her, what’s the worst she can do? If she bruises your ego; you stand right back up and think that you’ve still got any amount of years to find your beloved. No regrets. Want to write all over yourself in washable marker? DO IT! Have fun, it’s not hurting yourself or anyone else. Want to get a Mohawk; hell I’ll help you shave your head! Hair grows back anyways. Want to be different, stand out, re-make originality? I’ll be the first to congratulate you… As long as it’s not hurting you, or anyone else, sit back and enjoy yourself.

Just… don’t tell me to grow-up; because I’m trying to live my life with out regrets, because I’m not afraid to have fun, and because I don’t follow in the norm. Don’t try to explain that I’m childish, because I don’t have the same perspective as you. And don’t, try to prevent me from living my life, in a way that’s best suited for me.

So, I'm sitting here in bed, considering picking up a paper and pencil; not a day goes by with out me drawing. The only problem is, there is around 10 incomplete drawings scattered aross the floor. They just dont seem good enough to finish. But, I've never been one to just sit and let an incomplete stay incomplete for very long.

I'm seeing so many flaws already that I dont know if I can fix them. So I suppose you needn't worry about the amount I'm posting drawings anymore. For, there will be an epic battle [of outrageous fortunes ] going through my head anytime I go to finish a drawing.

So, I figured I should tell you, I've been becomming obsessed with drawing, and the improvement I've been seeing. So basically there will probably be constant updates, I just have so MANY idea's to draw floating around in my head.

I just have to get better.
